The very first mosque in the world is located in Madina, a town in Saudi Arabia where Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi is located.     22 is a mosque. It used to be a cathedral, but was converted by the conquering Muslim army. I love the variety in architecture, and the use of light is extraordinary in some of these. Thank you ever so for sharing these!

    The photographs are perfection my friend, but pic no. 22 is not a mosque!! It has drawings on the ceiling and couches and even the very layout can NEVER make it a mosque, although i have to admit it is a beautifully decorated hall. :)
